Field

About

Never start over.

Field is made by Jeffers Seven Labs, an independent studio founded by Nick Jeffers. We build Field, an app for one person's lifelong memory, and the open Field protocol through which owned memories can meet on their owners' terms.

Why Field exists

Not privacy for its own sake. Not losing.

  • 01Never start over. Every new assistant meets you as a stranger, and every vendor's memory is built to keep you in. Field keeps one memory that's yours, so switching minds doesn't mean re-explaining your life.
  • 02Continuity across minds. What you tell one mind, the next one already knows, because they both read the same memory through grants you control, and you can see every read.
  • 03Shared moments without shared custody. A family trip shouldn't end up split across five phones, and a childhood shouldn't stay locked inside a parent's account. In Field, each person adds what they choose to a shared moment, their contributions sit side by side, and nobody hands over their whole library or controls anyone else's.

How we work

The librarian, not the town crier.

  • →Honest about stage. Field is a small private beta on iPhone and Mac. The protocol is a draft. We'll say so every time.
  • →Nothing shared by default. Scoped, expiring, audited grants. Abuse, estrangement, and minors are must-pass cases, not afterthoughts.
  • →Open where it matters. We want a second, independent host to exist. The app should win by being the best home for your memory, not the only one.

Contact

Say hello.

Beta interest, protocol implementers, would-be second hosts, and press are all welcome.
